Alissa Timoshkina

Alissa came to the UK from Russia 18 years ago and never looked back. With a PhD in film history, she was a lecturer of Russian and European cinemas, and worked as curator of film festivals in London. When her passion for cooking and hosting dinner parties turned into an obsession Alissa launched KinoVino, a cinema-supper club which offers film screenings and dinners with unique menus inspired by the films.

Launched in 2015, KinoVino featured in British Vogue, Vice, Khoollect and BBC Radio 4 Food programme. It was named one of the 10 best supper clubs by TimeOut London, and is regularly featured in their round ups of top monthly events. For each edition Alissa collaborates with some of the most vibrant food personalities on the current UK food scene, including chefs Olia Hercules, Tom Hunt, Kylee Newton, Oliver Rowe, Dan Doherty and Romy Gill.

Aside from KinoVino, Alissa runs her own food popups, does food styling for films and runs cooking classes and table styling workshops.
